Welcome to the wonderful world of The Emps. Where emotions come to life…

You don’t have to guess what your child is feeling anymore. With The Emps you can name it, talk about it, understand it and walk through it together.

What are The Emps?

The Emps have been created by Dr Nat, an educational psychologist with over 20 years of experience in education.

Emotions aren’t problems to fix… they are signals to understand. Big emotions aren’t bad. They’re a sign your child is still learning how to be in the world.

The Emps give every emotion a name, a face and a voice so children can finally talk about what they feel. Instead of vague emojis, colours or charts we have a full cast of characters not just happy, sad, angry and frightened. Because we believe that mental health and wellbeing is grounded in understanding ALL emotions.

The Emps is not about undertaking a short course or work book to become a ‘better parent’, The Emps is a continuing journey, with engaging characters, that gives you and your children lifelong skills to understand and navigate our wonderful world of emotions to support future mental health.

The Emps are aimed at all children, all parents and carers and all educators. In fact The Emps are aimed at everyone who has ever felt an emotion… and not entirely understood why.

Emping

Emping is what we call the art of noticing, feeling and staying with emotions, especially your own. It’s empathy turned inward first, then outward.

It’s feeling, not fixing.

It’s staying soft, even when things feel big.

It’s how we help our children and ourselves build emotional safety from the inside out.

It helps our parents realise they are allowed to have emotions too.

It gives children permission to feel without judgement

We will begin our journey by introducing three of The Emps. As we introduce each new Emp, they will be accompanied by videos, top tips, resources, fact files and Zines. Over the coming weeks and months we will introduce more Emps as we continue our Emping journey together!
