Pip and the Volcano Tummy | The Flaregrump Files, Case 1 | Printable Comic Story

£2.00

We all get angry sometimes. Even trainee detectives.

Pip wants a real detective badge more than anything in the whole world. One rainy Tuesday, he builds his tallest tower ever. Then Maya squeezes past. CRASH.

Hot tummy. Red cheeks. Tight hands. Pip stomps, throws his notebook, and then feels awful. I must be a naughty puppet.

But Pip isn't naughty at all. That was Flaregrump visiting.

Flaregrump is the Agency's bodyguard. He turns up when things feel unfair, and he's trying to help. Sometimes he just grows too big, too fast. He isn't a baddie. Pip and Flaregrump both need a little help learning what to do.

That's where your detectives come in.

This is the first case in The Flaregrump Files, our anger range from The Emp Detective Agency. It gives children the words for the hot volcano feeling, shows them where it lives in the body, and separates the feeling from the child. Angry isn't who you are. It's an Emp that visits.

It ends with a question for the children: what could Pip do when the hot volcano feeling comes? That's where the real conversation starts

.

Created by Dr Nat, an Educational and Child Psychologist with 25 years in education. It draws on emotion coaching, name it to tame it, and narrative approaches that help children talk about big feelings without shame.
